Labor-less Weekend

Smith Point - Remnants of Hurricane Earl
This past Labor Day Weekend, regardless of its intensity, was anything but laborious.  The four of us at 643 Habitat started off the three day weekend by catching the remains of Earl Friday night at Smith Point.  This was the first night we had all really spent some quality time together and I realized quick that this year will be full of laughs and tears (tears from laughing so hard)!  Not knowing the three house-mates I'd be living with was my biggest concern moving across the States, but thank God I have nothing to worry about.

Saturday we found a gym that is close and at an AmeriCorp price - $10/month!  In the evening Bridget, Lindsey, Beth and I went over to Bridget's family's place in Huntington to cook, drink wine and have Beth tell us all who we will eventually marry...I guess out there some where there is a lucky "Rosemary Jean" just for me!  Rosemary Jean Schultz? blah!

Sunday we caught an early train into the City to see a Yankees game!  Although they didn't win against Toronto, it was a blast!

We were seated high up in the 400 level most of the game, but towards the end we were able to scoot down to the 200s right by home plate!

After the game we stopped by Central Park!  It was Lindsey's first visit there and it was a beautiful day for it!

On Sunday Bridget, Juilio (a past Habitat volunteer) and I went to Robert Moses beach to absorb the sun and just relax!  It was an awesome weekend with some of the best people!
